The NC State chapter of the Rho Phi Lamda undergraduate honor society was named student chapter of the year by the National Park and Recreation Association. PRTM Ph.D. student, Timia Thompson, was named incoming student chapter chair for the national organization
The prestigious Active Living Research dissertation grant was awarded to Ph.D. student Mike Edwards by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for his research on school based youth sport programs. One of only five grants awarded annually, Mike is the first parks and recreation Ph.D. student ever selected to receive this award.
