 Iantha Gantt-Wright

Iantha Gantt-Wright has 20 years experience working with environmental organizations. She is viewed by many as a national leader on issues of social justice and diversity in this community. Iantha is the President of The Kenian Group diversity consultants a company that provides environmental and public land organizations with skills and tools necessary to diversify their programs, memberships, constituents, workforces, boards and advocates.

Prior to launching The Kenian Group Iantha served as the Director of Enhancing Diversity Programs for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA).  Under her leadership NPCA organized the first of three Mosaic in Motion Conferences -- the first national effort to directly address issues of race and diversity in the national parks. As a direct result of the success of the Mosaic conferences Gantt-Wright launched the National Parks Community Partners Program in six cities around the country.

Before joining NPCA, Iantha served as Staff Director and Mid-Atlantic Regional Supervisor for the national environmental organization Clean Water Action (CWA) where she successfully managed grassroots environmental fundraising, public education and, election campaign offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, California, and Washington D.C.

More recently Iantha served as the lead organizer and planner for Summit 2005: Diverse Partners for Environmental Progress, an effort that brought together representatives from the environmental, environmental justice, Civil Rights, human rights, funding and faith communities to find common ground on issues concerning the preservation of our common environment.

Iantha holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Development from Trinity College in Washington, DC. Among her many honors she has received The Department of the Interior’s award for “Stellar Deeds in Advancing Diversity,” “The Partnership Award,” from the Mid-America Multicultural Tourism Association, and “Person of the Year Award,” from Outward Bound Adventures Inc.  A short list of her current clients include; the National Wildlife Federation, Wilderness Society, American Hiking Society and Trust for Public Land.
